With reference to Mr. Cook's letter to the Russian Liquidation Committee of 25th October, 1918, (54025/F.3.A.2.) and Mr. Cross's reply of the
14th January last (Ex.325/R/18), relative to the cargo
discharged at Hongkong on the 5.5,"Tokuyama Liru",
i am directed by the Lords Commissioners of His
majesty's Treasury to transmit herewith, for the information of the Shipping Controller, a copy of a letter (with its enclosures) which They ave received from the Colonial Office upon the subject dated the 16th ultimo.
I am to request that the accounts may be examined in your Department, and that, if they are in order, the sum of $31,094,30 should be credited to the Government of Hongkong, and that this amount should be debited in the books of your Department to Russian
Liquidation Suspense Account.
